Tuesday, May 4, 2021
- Today was the LAST DAY to work on the Plane and Simple assignment. Mrs. Tam was able to provide feedback to some groups. All presentations must be submitted to Google Classroom by 9:00 am.
Monday, May 3, 2021
- With the remaining time from the math quiz, everyone worked on their Flight assignment. Many groups asked for a one day extension, so your wish has been granted. We begin presentations WEDNESDAY!

- We made gliders today!! The 6s did a fabulous job creating their own and testing out how the different control surfaces affected how the flight of their glider. I have posted the template on Google Classroom for those who were absent and some students who wanted to make another one at home.
Tuesday, April 20, 2021
- We learned about Yaw, Pitch and Roll today. The students then familiarized themselves with the Control Surfaces (airplane parts) of a plane in preparation for building gliders tomorrow. Please bring a pair of scissors and/or sharpies to class tomorrow.
Monday, April 19, 2021
- We learned about Hot Air Balloons today and what causes them to ascend and descend.

After our Paper Free Fall demonstration, 6-04 and 6-06 came up with inferences for their observations. See below for the responses. We then moved onto talking about the background of parachutes and even studied a few different types of parachutes. Hopefully tomorrow, we can start the actual building of our parachutes. Have your garbage bags ready! :)
Wednesday, April 7, 2021
We began our Flight unit today by conducting a mini experiment by dropping the same type of paper, in different forms, from a higher height. From this, we review variables (especially controlled variables), observations vs. inferences, the difference between Quantitative and Qualitative observations. See below for a picture of what the students came up with.
